Detox Yourself With Positive Energy: Deal With Negativity

Personal Development

Sapping the energy of everyone around, they wear you down to the point of exhaustion. In their naiveté, and undying worldliness, they have very different expectations as to how things are done. If only they take a moment to stop complaining and whining, they can create something they can be proud of, gaining the power to find success in all that they endeavor.

Is there a magic wand that would sweep away all their negativity?

Yes, there is – your attitude!

Have you ever experienced that tiring feeling after you speak to someone or after you’ve met people?  We all do. However, unless you’re aware of what’s happening, you don’t realize that it can have anything to do with our interaction with others. You may just think that it’s been a hard day.

But think about it! What’s really hard on you? Dealing with an unreasonable boss?  Dealing with negativity from your team members? Dealing with tough customers?  Everything that is stressful involves people!

Negative People Affect Everybody!

You don’t need to be particularly susceptible to negativity in such people.  Just as positive energy keeps us happy, enthusiastic and raring to go; negative energy depletes everything good in the air and kills the good feelings from within.

This is the reason we find some motivational talks highly energizing. They give us the motivation required to handle even the toughest tasks with ease. It’s all in the mind!

When you hear someone complaining all the time; at some point, that’s going to have an affect on your mind too. They plant the seed of doubt within yourself, which if unchecked can grow into a huge plant and you become one of them – a negative person who can’t seem to see anything good in anybody or anything.

Be Aware Of The Negativity Monsters

As marketers, we thrive on networking and building relationships. Everything we do is related to people. We create teams and work with them, with success as our goal.

Being aware is the key to identifying such people in your life. Some of you may ask yourselves, “Why did I not notice this behavior before?”

Some of you may thrive on the positive energy you derive from people around you to successfully complete each task, on your way to reaching their goals. For such people, it’s easier to spot those who are on a totally different wave length.

There are bound to be such people in your life because it’s impossible to live a life without negativity coming from somewhere. This awareness can help you not get influenced by their negativity. This will help you stay focused on your goal. You may not be able to change such people, but you have to learn how to not let them effect your own state of mind.

All That Matters Is What Is Within You

Read that again.

All That Matters is Within You.

Life doesn’t always give you second chances. People who succeed are those who believe in themselves and go all out to do what they set out to, no matter what the obstacles.

Bad influences can affect you during childhood, when the body and mind are not yet fit to cope with the environment, but it’s unseemly as adults, because it marks an atrophy of human nature, and a failure to grasp the opportunities offered by life.

What Do You Feel For Such People?

The normal reaction to negativity from people is irritation and perhaps anger when extreme. It’s easy to feel these emotions for those who are unhappy and make others around them unhappy too.

But anger and irritation are two emotions that can wear you down, while it doesn’t have any effect on the person who is the reason for such emotions.

Let me share an interesting Native American legend with you. It has been circulated everywhere because of the wonderful message it imparts. You may have read it, but here it is again.

negativityOne day, an old Cherokee was explaining what life is to his grandson.

He said, “There is a constant battle going on within us at all times, and it is between two wolves.”

“One is an evil wolf – filled with inferiority, envy, regret, greed, arrogance, sorrow, resentment, false pride, superiority, ego and negativity.

The other one is good – filled with confidence, hope, faith, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, love and positivity.”

The grandson was silent for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

The grandfather replied, “The one you feed!”

Perhaps one of the best things about this Cherokee story is how – against all negativity – it’s possible to win and succeed.

There are bound to be many angry wolves around you who are filled with negativity and they try to interrupt you on your journey.

It doesn’t matter what they feel.

It doesn’t matter what they say.

It doesn’t matter if everyone around is filled with negativity or love.

What matters is what’s within you.

Remember, the wolf you feed grows stronger, while the other gets weaker.

Negativity: Why The Unnecessary Ordeal?

If you’re the victim and have been feeding the wrong wolf, ask yourself why!  Why take a path that leads to inevitable disappointment, self-doubt and letdown? Why create a self fulfilling prophecy that dooms you to failure?

Why not take the path to success, the path on which hundreds of successful entrepreneurs have traveled before you. The path where angels sing and you experience the showers of riches!

Don’t forget the trauma, stress and anxiety that you’ll be leaving behind. You’ve started in your business hoping to succeed, and you can if you start feeding the good wolf.

Everyone can achieve success like so many others did, if you bury the promises you’ve made to yourself and your loved ones so deeply and securely that no amount of negativity can ever extinguish your hope.

Are you ready?

I’m curious ….

Which wolf are you feeding?
